I have a wash basin with pop up/down waste. It has been stuck in the down position several times, usually solved with a sink plunger which makes it pop up. This time that doesn’t work and it is completely stuck. (I think it was cheap in a new build house) I want to change it to a conventional plug waste. The sink doesnt have a chain stay hole, but it does have an overflow hole with a cover. Does anyone know if overflow covers are available with a chain hook? Alternatively what makes are reliable for a pop up/down waste. Thanks for your time

Noooo. Spawn of the devil... Those rubber rings are a right pain in the backside.

I prefer this all brass chrome plated style of flip waste (I bought mine from Amazon and were Architekt branded). https://www.bes.co.uk/flip-top-plug-basin-waste-chrome-brass-slotted-11-4-16986/

Crosswater make one the same. As do McAlpine https://mcalpineplumbing.com/waste-outlet-fittings/basin-wastes/cp-brass-swivel-basin-waste/ No nasty rubber washer to stick or get damaged.

Thanks for the suggestion. I like the idea of the revolving plug especially one that doesn’t have an o-ring. One of the reasons I wanted to go back to standard plug is that although they don’t look as nice at least you know they can’t fail. It looks like the second one suggested is unlikely to fail. Just need to find a plumber in my local area to the work - they all seem very much in demand!

It was more the style than an an actual manufacturer. Mine has a rubber ring, with no issues.
