Bath in Bedroom?

We are trying to renovate our Victorian flat which has a slightly strange layout. At present there is a very small bathroom that has a small bath and sink, and then a separate (and not next door) toilet in a long thin room down the corridoor. We wanted to knock down walls to create one decent sized bathroom, but after getting quotes and looking at load bearing walls this looks as though its going to cost a lot of money for a room we probably only use for 30 mins a day!

So we are now on the idea of making the small bathroom into a shower room (with toilet and sink) and then putting a roll top bath in the master bedroom. The master bedroom is quite large (16 meters squared) and has high ceilings.

Does anyone have any thoughts or comments on this? Has anyone seen/done this to their place? Would it put you off buying somewhere if this was the layout? Do you think it will devalue our flat?

Any advice/thoughts greatly appreciated.

:)

doubt your room is big enough no electricity [sockets and switches excluding pull cords]within 3m off a bath i think it is one off the sparks will verify

Thanks

We would have to seal up one the current electrical points but we should be able to put some in at the opposite end of the room, there would be about 4 meters between bath and socket?

Something so to think about though.

Assuming its the kind of place to potentially go to a family at some point the only bath being in the master bedroom is gonna be a major turn off! Many people won't even bother to look.

You could put in an en-suite bathroom from about 1.7m x 1.2m with bath and basin and 2.4m x 1.2m with a toilet or bidet. Add 0.1m each way for a double-ended bath. Depending on door position, you might have room for a walk-in wardrobe too.
