the metal twister that you turn for the bath plug to pop out has got stuck, its impossible to remove the side of the bath to get underneath because of the tiling etc, any ideas on how i can remove the plug please. thanks.

What ever u do dont force the overflow knob. Try to pop up the plug with somthing very thin like a paint scraper etc. A stanley knife blade is also good but becarefull not to snap it.never had 1 not to come out that way but u could try wd40 if no joy with above.
You could try the school boy aproach.
Look through your kitchen cupboards and find a vacuum flask with a softish opening/top that is bgger than the plug but fits the waste surrounding the plug.
Pour some boiling water into the flask to heat the flask body.
Quickly invert the flask, pouring out the water and place it over the waste/plug hole.
The heated water vapour within the flask body will slowly cool so creating a lower pressure within the flask body when compared to the underside of the plug.
Like I said its a bit of a long shot and provided the plug does come out, and you dont knacker the flask, her in doors may be impressed.
Obviously it requires a good seal between the bath and the flask
If nothing else, reading this will make the thought of removing the bath side that much easier.

thanks for all your replies. eventually the wd40 did the trick, back to taking showers i think now!
unfortunately in the process of using a bucket to empty the bath water to get to the flipping plug, i chucked the water out the window each time and it flooded thru the extension roof onto the kitchen floor.

I managed to get it out using a plunger (the device for nblocking a sink sction cup on handle), but that leaves me with the problem - I can't use the plug that came with the bath! However, a cheap rubber one seems to do the trick, just doesn't look as nice!
I have had this problem a lot
Usually the toilet punger over the plug works
This did not work the last time
I had to drill a small hole,
screw in a self tapping screw
lever the plug up with a craw hammer
