Bath Side Pannel and Tiling solution needed....

Hi Guys...

Weve a few tiles left over from doing the bathroom, and decided it might be a good idea to tile in the bath pannel, instead of the plastic one that we have at the moment...

I need so help with this tho...

All our Bathroom is tiled with a brick effect tiling.... and would like to continue this on the pannel...

My only concern is i need to create an access area just in case i need to get to the pipework under the head of the bath....

Any ideas for the best way of doing this....??

tiled bath panels, like,.....dare i say it.... carpeted panels, are sooo yesterday. my advice is don't do it. an access panel in a tiled bath upstand will look shocking.

A tiled bath panel does look much more "finished off" (if you use decent tiles) but you don't need an access panel. Just make it so that the side panel is a push fit. On mine, I just need to break the grout where the side panel meets the end panel and I can remove the side panel. It's heavy though.

I like this idea... a could make a timber frame then board it off to tile onto..... Maybe even some magnetic fixings too..... Cracking idea....

When I did mine - I reversed the fake wood panel so that the wood effect was hidden and the flat back side was showing, then tiled onto that. Using a proper panel means that you can still locate the top "tongue" of the panel into the "groove" in the underside of the bath rim. Then all you have to do is make a basic frame to stop the panel from being pushed in too far.
