Help! Each time some one stands in the bath to take a shower the bath begins to squeak. some one once told me that you can pack rolled up newspaper between the tiles and the bath and then reveal with a silicone sealant. Does anyone know the correct procedure for doing this?

Certainly forget about the rolled up newspaper :p
If the squeak is coming from where the bath meets the wall, theres a chance that the bath wasn't filled up before the sealant was applied.
Are you sure the squeak isn't from underneath, where the feet are?

Ifthe bath is moving where its in contact with the wall, then there will surely be water ingress somewhere.
Best remove the bath panel, and listen out for squeaks when someone is in the tub. At the same time you can look at the wall behind to see if there's any water stain or dampness.

This bath is moving and it needs to be taken out and a batten fixed to the wall and the bath resat on a bed of silicone

Fill the bath and then let it dry out properly

This will stop any movement

Make sure all legs are sat on 4 by2 timber

I've looked at cmments posted on this site over many months and have to say for straight forward and sensible advice I think happy plumber is spot on I would do exactly the same bath out put it back properly
