Ive heard so many different things now, is it tile to bath or bath to tile, someone told me to cut out a bit of wallboard so i can get the bath really tight in and then tile to the bath
Always tile down to bath leaving a 2mm gap, fill bath with water (after grout has dried), silicone around bath with a good quality sanitary silicone & leave bath full of water over night & drain after 12 hours. Make sure your tiles base around the bath is suitable (i.e. not plasterboard) but no need to cut holes in it. Use the correct quality trade adhesive/grout for your tiles; the DIY stuff is mostly crap.
