I've recently bought the house. The fan is ceiling mounted above the bath which seems iffy to me.

Is above the bath deemed safe?

I'd have thought being above the w/c was more practical to get the odours extracted was practical for a bathroom?

It is safe - assuming everything is done properly.

I presume steam extraction was the priority over smells.

The fan will draw in air from the door so the other end of the bath might have been better.

So the issue of steam from the bath condensing on the fan's electrics is not a safety concern?

I've checked the fan. Its IP44 so protected from 'low velocity sprays of water from every direction'.

the height of the fan above floor level is important.

Do you have duct in the loft? where does it go?

photos would help
