hello to everybody ,i wonder if anybody can help ,my bathroom pull switch has broke,i have been and bought a new switch , there are 1 set of wires coming out the ceiling, red wire ,black wire and earth, on the pull switch it says L1 L2 and common and earth ,can anybody help with which wire goes where thanks

The earth which should have yellow/green sleeving on it goes to the earth terminal.
The red will go in the com, and the black which should have a bit of red sleeving on should go in L1. This will leave L2 empty as it is only needed for 2 way switching.
