the easrth wires go in that single brass terminal that sits on its own (E)

the main bunch of red wires go into the single terminal that is at the bottom of the picture (NOT The brass terminal) (C)

The red and yellow go in the terminal opposite the one where all the red wires will be (L1)

oh and do turn the mains off first, use a torch to see with

disclaimer: this aassumes you have bunched the wires corectly

Were they connected as grouped? ie all the reds on the right in one & the red/yellow on the left in the other?

Or have you completely muxed them ip?

You have a timer fan feed, live loop & switch wire in there.

Yellow will PROBABLY be the switched feed for the timer fan, so that would go to L1, along with the switched live to the light/s.

Then the permanent lives go in Common & the cpc's in the earth terminal.

If you have mixed them up, you will need a multimeter to id them.

EDIT: Bah! Mr Breezer always gets there before me...

Please don't shout.

Have you tried what I suggested or not?

please heed RF's advice about turning off. Do not work live.

Please don't shout.

I don't understand what you're saying and shouting won't make me understand it better.

Have you tried wiring up your new switch as I suggested?

SORRY IM NOT SHOUTING IM JUST STRESSED IM NOT DOING IT untill tomorow MORNING WHEN THERE IS LIGHT SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT I KNOW WHERE THE EARTH GOES AND THE 3 REDS GO IN THE COMMON AT THE BOTTOM AND THE YELLOW AND RED GO IN THE TOP L1 IS THIS CORRECT
THANKS
KERRY

yes, that is what i said, and by the way, capitals is considered to be shouting

The three red wires are the mains supplies to the other lights (they're daisy chained around the house), so if the chain is broken, other lights further down won't work. These are the ones you've mentioned have packed up.

The yellow wire makes the fan work and is switched on and off.

The last red wire is the switched wire that goes to the bathroom light. Put it in the same hole as the yellow wire (at opposite ends of the switch to all the other red wires, it doesn't really matter which, as long as one set of wires goes in COM, which means common).

The green/yellow earth wires go in the brass hole, as mentioned.

Unscrew the screws a bit before you try and fit the wires back in so they go right in easily.

Poke the wires in quite hard and keep the pressure on as you do the screws up. This stops one coming loose - the hardest part is keeping all them reds togeher.

By the way, you don't need to know a cpc is to do this.
