Advice from DIYers needed!
The plumber fitting my bathroom has mentioned that they will be turning the boiler off and will need to check the gas meter when the work is completed. They are cutting back and rerouting the copper pipes as the sink is being moved, but I thought these would be water supply pipes?

Excuse my naivety, but where does the boiler and gas meter enter into the works?

Impossible to say with the given information. Ask the plumber.

If one is a gas pipe this would come into it, the same as heating pipes would - except they wouldn’t be checking the gas meter for heating pipes. As suggested - ask the plumber!

What about us pro's, we not allowed to comment  ;)

It may be the gas pipe is where the pipework for the sink needs to be. Just get him to show you where the gas pipe is amongst the sink pipework and explain why it needs to move - simples. Oh and check whoever's doing it is gas safe, not all 'plumbers' are.

Thanks all for your responses. Yes, Madrab - the gas safe reason is why I was asking.

Just ask to see whoever's doing the gas work for their gas card and check the back of it to ensure it is in date.
