Hi
Enjoying the forum but now to my post!

I need to get power to a whirlpool bath and underfloor heating in my bathroom. The bath has an 230V 50hz 580 watt 3.2amp pump, the floor is 1 m square, 150W - unsure of ampage.
There is a socket outside the bathroom from which an FCU can easily be spurred.
Can I connect the bath and floor to the same FCU?

(I'm assuming Part P only applies to England and Wales so no concerns there)

Thanks in advance

Rather than add them as spurs, break the ring at the socket, then connect a ring tail to fused outlet 1 then link to fused outlet 2 and finally back to the socket to complete the modified ring.

Thus the 2 fused spur outlets are part of the ring rather than spurs off a ring socket.

For fuse size- watt / 230v = amps, so I'd suggest a 5 amp and a 3 amp fuse.

I think I see what you mean. Effecitivly extend the ring main. That would work.
Would I have to crimp and insulate the join at the first socket or would dreaded choc blocks suffice?

You can use choc blocks in the back of the socket box, if you must.

Note that although Part P hasnt crept its way to Scotland you should still be installing, testing and certifying your work to the appropriate standard.
