When swapping a bathroom is it usual to just connect on the the existing plastic 1.5inch waste for the bath and 1.25inch waste for the basin or should all this be renewed?

Should just be straight on to it, but renew if you wish!
re-newing means a lot of work taking up boards etc just wondered if was usual practice for a plumber just to connect on to the old. Bath and basin going in same place.

If nothing wrong with the old, there would be no reason to need to.
