Anyone know where you can get one?

I cant even find a similar one by searching for it, not even other images of it - so I had to take one of my own...

any ryobi one plus will do if its a clip on battery
if its a slide on battery then your better going for a knackered one and having it re celled as a battery older than 5 years is on its last legs if well looked after

ok just checked any one plus ryobi will do or the new2.4 li-ions but you will need the new charger if you get the li-ions

All the Ryobi One+ batteries look clip on to me, are there 2 types?

If you can see in my picture above, the battery I have is slide on - I cant find any example of a slide on battery for any ryobi type at all.

I did consider replacing the cells, although its an odd nicad size and I haven't been able to find any. I had considered hacking some li-ion into it (since 5x 18650 would fit) but would be awkward to (balance/)charge.

slide on batteries are old hat now not been made for perhaps 5 or 6 years now
the batteries used to cost £45 new until a year or so ago but a 5 year old nicad is likly to be near it end as it hasn't been used

i have re-celled a couple off slide on batteries using one plus battery packs the are identical apart from the battery on top has to be repositioned into the flat position

i still have at least one off the dud cell packs kicking about if its any use to you i havent checked the individual cells as i had 2 one plus batteries going spare[had 8 lol]

never used one to be honest just shop around find one that will give you1.7 or 2ah nicads

do not be tempted to buy a new battery or a second hand one as they havent been made for around 5 years
age can kill a battery just as quick as being used

48 dosnt seem that bad
you can also try googling "generic ryobi 18v batteries"

got my batteries upgraded to 2amp, and done at Multicell, Leicester, left them in the afternoon, and done the next morning! Cost £50 each!
