Battery Smoke Alarms keep going off

Hi There,

I have a battery operated smoke alarm on my landing and it keeps going off at random times, evening during the night or when sat watching tv

I went out and bought a brand new slightly more expensive one, and that seems to do the same.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be setting it off? It’s starting to worry me

If its chirping, change the battery, if its beeping the unit is faulty - assuming there isn't someone or something setting it off like nocturnal smokers.

Where did you purchase the new one from? Check the expiry date.

Could be a small spider or something getting into the sensor

Try vaccuming the alarm to dislodge any dust/insects which might be triggering it.
