I've been chasing a small water leak round my Baxi 105e. Nipped up a couple of joints and I'm almost done.
However, there is an intermittent drip when the boiler starts up in the morning (I'm usually in the Land of Nod) which stops after a minute or two when the boiler gets warm.
I believe it's coming from this drain tap.

What does the drain tap do?
Why should it drip then stop?
Can I replace it myself?

(The boiler is upstairs and the tap is higher than the valves on the radiators if that makes a difference to replacing)
Many thanks.

Drains the boiler
Expands a bit when heating and stops drip.
Yes

Have you tried opening and closing said valve? That sometimes works.

Thanks for the reply. I 'll open and close it a few times to see if that cures it.
If I do replace it do I need to shut any other valves off on the feed pipes at the back of the boiler, or do I just drain the boiler, replace the valve and refill with the filling loop.
Thanks!
