hi, any ideas.
When heating turned on the boiler rad light comes on but pressure drops and does not ignite, preesure at 1.5 bar when cold, prior i found the hot water temp gauge was going up and down all over the place even when set low

Sounds like you've got a lot of debris in the plate heat exch. Possibly some blocking the Pressure switch. Possible blocked return filter causing pressure drop to show on press' gauge
PS Don't know which boiler you mean. Am presuming you've got a Duotech 40 he as am not aware of another 40he.
Have a look in the manufacturers instructions RE: cleaning the system prior to installation.
