Baxi Bahama 100 cutting out

I hope you can help I have a baxi bahama 100 boiler which had cut out problems before, i changed the flow switches which cured the problem a few months ago (thanks for the advice), but its now developed another problem! In ch mode the burner will come on & heat the house to @ 18 - 19 degrees (@ 10 mins) then lock out & need a mains reset. In hot water mode the water will become warm then as soon as it reaches a reasonable temp again the boiler locks out requiring another reset. I have looked at the diagnostic chart & am puzzled as to what may be causing the problem and would greatly appreciate any constructive advice.

I fitted the Bahama 100 about 6 years ago at my mothers house (big mistake) in this time i've changed flow switches twice and the EFD board which is fitted to the SIT gas valve models. just recently it keeps cutting out for no reason and requires resetting, and then it will work ok for weeks. When you look at the workings of the boiler it's not to complicated but coming from a FRENCH design i think its got built in problems I'm saving for a new boiler has i cant stand the mither i'm getting.

Dont know where you got french design from mate and trust me if you have only changed the flow switches twice you are one of the luckier ones you can get a kit to convert the sit models to honeywell version but at over £300 i would also be looking to change boiler personally

have you tried looking at the air pressure switch tubing......may look in good condition but not holding suction and allowing pressure switch to fail...went out to one at christmas..potterton had changed pcb..gas valve and over heat stat...tubing looked in good condition but fell apart when rubbed..might be worth a peek

Thanks guys, after much head scratching, groin scratching - i think the later is due to the lack of hot water & nothing more sinister! I resorted to tapping the red honeywell control unit attached to the gas valve, and lo & behold the gas valve intermittantly started opening with each tap. I removed the control unit & opened the unit to find a dry joint on the resister, resoldered the offending little blighter & eureka heating works hot water works & its even cured my other little problem.

Thanks again guys, by the way the resister is a 97k it had been getting hot but it still working at present, I did get a spare just in case but while its still working i'm more than happy to leave it.
