Can anyone help with this problem please. The boiler is 5 years old and started to not light, showing the solid red light. The electrodes have now both been re-newed, the control board re-newed, the gas valve was replaced and the condensation trap changed for the newer one (which is bigger.)
The boiler ran for about half a day and then would not light - showing the solid red light. The water flow through the boiler is good and constant. Temporary removing the wire to the condensation trap has not effect.
For some reason if the boiler is left turned off for a day or two it will work fine for the next few days but then will finally stop working with the solid red light showing. The boiler refuses to light and will only work again by leaving it for a few days when it then lights successfully again but will fail a few days later and needs a 'rest' again before re-lighting.
A very strange fault and I ask if anyone can help resolve this problem after paying out a lot of money to an engineer who has now given up saying that he can't get much help from Baxi. many thanks, Ken.
