Hello

We have an Baxi Bermuda fire front which we still use as a fire to supplement the heat in our living room. The old boiler which is still behind the fire has been decommissioned and the radiators are now run by a modern condensing boiler.

The problem with the fire is that the elements light up unevenly, and no longer correspond to the 1-4 levels on the control knob as it did in the past.

For example on the maximum setting all 4 elements should light up fully. However on our fire the two outer elements burn very bright, but the middle two not at all.

I've heard that this might be caused because the gas injector at the bottom right of the fire might be blocked and need cleaning? Do you think this might be the case and if so how do you clean the injector?

Thanks

Your assumptions are correct, however, the advice for removal and cleaning of gas carrying parts is verboten on the open forum.

Swap them over this will confirm whether the radiants(elements) are worn because the middle two are the most often used . if still same get someone out to clean injectors which can be a slight nuisance on these as they can foul quite badly
