Hi there, can anyone help ? I have a boxi bermuda552 boiler broblem. I'm trying to light the boiler but its not staying alight, as a result i have no heating and no hot water. Does anyone know how to sort this one out?
i would respectfully suggest if you are asking what a thermocouple is you are not competant to access/change it, on a BBU you would need to remove the fire front for access wich is a gas job, FYI a thermocouple is a safety device consisting of a tip which is enveloped in the pilot flame and heated therefore sending an electrical signal down the lead to the gas valve to allow gas to pass if the main burner is turned on, if the pilot blows out the thermocouple cools and the signal is lost closing the gas valve to stop the chance of gas being passed to the burner and not lit.
