Hi folks,
Newbie here desperately in need of your help before the cold weather arrives.
Boiler in question is a Baxi Bermuda Inset 2 Boiler 50/4 E

My problem is the hot water will switch the boiler on, but the heating won't.

The controller is a Danfoss SET 3M programmer.

Having looked through the fault finding pages in the manual, it looks as though the switched live isn't happening when the controller switches onto heating.

Is there anything else i can check, a test perhaps to prove it, or do i just need a new controller ?

I have the fire spread all over the living room at the moment, so a quick response would really be appreciated.

Put the boiler together again and fix the motorised valve. Why would you think it is the boiler if it is working on HW

The boiler isn't attempting to light when asked to.

It seems not to be getting the signal to do so.

If it was the motorised valve, wouldn't the boiler light anyhow ?

Do you have a fully pumped system with 2 motorised valves one for HW an one for CH or one 3 port.. If the boiler is working on HW then your fault lies externally to boiler Either the clock is not sending heating signal out, room stat faulty or the more common motorised valve motor gone.

Thanks for your help so far,

I have a 3 port Danfoss HSV3 motorised valve.

I've just tried the controller again. When i select Water On, i get a switched live neon on the boiler.
When i select Heating On, this switched live neon doesn't come on.

Would there be anything other than the controller at fault here ?

If it were the pump how do i check it ?

If you have a mzv,use the manual lever when its on h/w and it will allow the c/h to heat up,if ok then leave the lever in the manaul position ,hooked in the slot and it should be a motor needed not a whole new valve

Check roomstat that you have power coming too iit and away from it this will confirm clock and roomstat ok and indicate faulty motor in valve not motoring over and activating the microswitch for CH. 95% it is just the motor other 5% it needs a new head as little circuit board has gone in it
