Baxi Boiler leaking Water

My Baxi Solo 2 boiler started leaking water everywhere the other day.
i took the front cover and inner cover off and was confronted with some serious corosion all along the bottom row of plates on the heat exchanger.
In my head, i've written the boiler off as it's about 15 years old, but i'm wondering if this is really the case. Does anyone know if it's possible to replace the heat exchanger??
also, in the past i've used Fernox Sludge remover to clear the system out, could this in any way have caused the corosion in my boiler?? If so, i dread to think what the rest of the system is like!!

On this boiler, its easy to replace the heat exchanger.

You just need to find a decent heating engineer that will take it on.

Did you use DS40? or the 'non corrosive' fernox sludge remover?

Stick with your boiler if atall possible.

I love these jobs, and you just need to find someone up there who thinks the same.

Not easy, when if more than a fan or PCB needs changing, most 'engineers' will recommend a boiler change as its more 'economic'
