baxi boiler pressure too high

my pressure was too low so I added water thru the water inlet tap, now it's too high & is coming out of the overflow pipe, I released some water from the radiator and the pressure dropped to 1.25, but within 10 mins it had rose to 3 again.. whats happening ?

have you left the fill hose still connected? if so remove it and see what happens
