Baxi boiler swop

Hi

My daughter has an old BAXI boiler and fire and the boiler is leaking. she has obtained a 4 yr old 51/5. Is it possible to swop them over legally providing it is connected and commisioned by a CORGI registered person. If so is it possible to obtain the installation instructions for the boiler.

nope its not as a rule

you would need to have the installation excempted from part L1

which IMHO you havent got a cat in hells chance these days sorry

you also may find it hard to find an RGI willing to put his name to a second hand appliance

The question is: why would you replace an antiquated design, with the same junk, only less old? One of the most inefficient systems to be found in the entire country.
And potentially dangerous when not serviced regularly.

As above it is against building and energy efficency regs to fit an old back boiler. Who's to say the "new" one is safe anyway-why was it removed you have to wonder?

No cheap option here I'm afraid although a new condensing bbu has just been announced it's not on general sale yet and is likely to be crap anyhow.

No engineer worth his salt would fit a second hand bbu, you may get some polish plumber if you are lucky and willing to gamble your familys safety.

How did you manage to get CRAP through the filter? Very handy word as many posts are about ideal/warmfront/****ish gas and polish plumbers
