Sorry a bit of a novice.....not sure of the Baxi model no.? hw works ok but no ch, i have checked pump (Grundfos 15/60) and there seems to be splash marks and white deposit around seals, i presume this is the problem, if so do i have to repressurise the boiler after changing the pump and is changing the pump as easy as it looks????

i presume this is the problem
You presume too much. If you want to check the pump, use a screwdriver (blade to pump - handle to ear) to listen. You should hear the noise of the pump rotating. If you hear just a hum, or nothing, the pump may need freeing.

hi chris thanks for your prompt reply. ok tried that....no noise at all and boiler not firing up, if i undo screw to turn manually on pump water comes out, and the white deposits?

thanks in advance

Hi chris, the power seems to be going to the pump but is not turning, i have tried manually turning the pump and appears to run freely. As an update there is a Honeywell F5 9922 silver box on top of the pipe to the pump, this has two settings, when i turned to "main" from "auto" the heating comes on.

Sounds as though the problem is with motor fitted within the zone valve. This motor, when it receives a switched live supply ,from room or cylinder stat ,moves into heating/hot water mode, and then auxillary switch operates, sending live supply to boiler and pump.A new sychron motor is about 18 quid and a simple 15 minute repair.Do not forget to isolate power before repair.
