Hi all, this boiler has many threads but I cannot seem to find one that matches my issue.
CH works fine, this only happens when the HW is on.
After about a minute it shuts off, then I get a continued banging noise.
I did fit a radiator a while ago due to a leak, then British Gas fitted a burner as that was not working and this started probably a couple of weeks after.
It does not have any gauges so I cannot check pressure and I have been Googling where I could find its elusive filling point, and even what it might look like to absolutely no success.
Someone please help before I have to call them out again.

If you have x2 cold water storage cisterns then you won’t have a pressure gauge/filling loop. How many motorised valves do you have? If the issue started after the burner was fitted, maybe it was fitted incorrectly?

I have a large main one, then a smaller one next to it so that makes sense then.
I’d like to blame the engineer but as I said, it doesn’t do it on CH, just HW. The banging sounds like a pressured air lock if that makes sense.
It has one of those valve motors that adds water to CH/HW as it deems necessary in the loft, that’s working ok.

Motorised valves don’t add water, they allow water to flow from the boiler using heated water to the cylinder, radiators or both. Maybe the float valve in the loft for the replenishment of used hot water could be at fault - people often describe this as a ships horn

Yes flow, that’s what I meant. Water replenishment seems ok, plenty in the tanks. It’s very odd. I guess I’ll call them back out. Thanks for the tips anyway
