Baxi Solo 3 PFL 40

About 18 months we had the old Baxi boiler replaced by a new Baxi Solo 3 PFL40. Basically like for like.
We didn't have any problems with the old boiler as such, but this new one makes a tremendous noise when starting up. It's like a growling noise and goes on for about a minute. Just enough to wake us up every morning as the boiler is directly below the bedroom, in the kichen.

We would welcome any advice or suggestions as the service engineer is due to call.

Yes, we live in the Midlands.

No, this was prior to the new regulations coming into force.

I agree should have been a condensing boiler. Sounds like the fan is knackered to me.
