My parents have just had a "Baxi Solo 3 PFL60" boiler installed but are a bit concerned about the amount of noise it makes. With not having one of these fanned flu types before we're not sure if this is normal but the fan & burners kick in every couple of minutes and make quite a loud roar noise when compared to the previous potterton prima 60 boiler that had a balanced flu.
Is this just part of the normal characteristics of this boiler and something that they will just have to get used to with time? You can hear it throughout the rooms and is starting to get on their nerves!
From outside you can hear the suction sound of hot air being expelled through the flu which is some force and can be heard for quite some distance. Just wondering if this was normal and if so can anything be done to lessen the noise? cheers.
