Baxi solo3 No hot Water

Hi! We are having a problem with our(the landlords) boiler or the programmer. The boiler is a Baxi solo3 and the programmer a honeywell 6400. We have not had any hot water since yesterday, I just can't get it to work. When I put the HW on the CH comes on instead. Is this going to be difficult and costly to fix, because we don't have our landlords phone number And so we'll have to pay for it ourselves if we want to have a wash before next week.

Most likely the problem is with the motorised valve(s) on your system. If the boiler can do heating OK - there's nothing wrong with it.

Have a look in the cupboard where the hot water cylinder is, for a silver-coloured box with two or three pipes connected to it. That's a motorised valve. Chances are the motor's failed (if no changes have been made to the system and it worked OK before). The motor costs £12 - £15 and takes about half an hour to fit.

BUT it takes a competent heating engineer to work out whether the problem is the motor or something else.
