Bay Window curtain poles.

Hi

Im looking for a bay window cutain pole, does anyone know where i can get one reasonably, Ive seen some jointed 28mm poles in B&Q, for £90, but looking at the packet i think that they only do 90 degree angled bay windows and I need a 120 degree angle. Does anyone know if this type have a hinged joint allowing any angle to be achieved.

All help would be greatly appreciated, Ive looked everywhere and dont seem to be able to come up with a solution.

I've looked too but they don't exist as you cannot secure the pole in the angled corners (or the rings won't get past). I ended up going for the old bendy plastic track.

you can do it by having the curtains in 4 pieces; one gathered at each end for the side widows, and one in each corner and drawing towards the centre for the front.

Then none of the curtains has to go past a fixing.

Some of the more expensive poles have knuckle joints to allow lots of adjustment.
With the right brackets and passing rings you can do a bay window with a pain of curtains.

andy - consider making one. Hire a tube bender, buy a length of electrical conduit (black), 2 strips of timber (thin) pivoted via a nut & bolt at one end to form an angle jig (to copy the wall angles for your bends). Conduit brackets to fix to wall. Then follow JohnD's advice about 'splitting' the curtains. Finials/knobs to finish off the ends. I used this method for a complicated bay in my dining room, only I used 1" bright mild steel tube then sprayed black.

A blacksmith chap, who does some rather nifty iron work. Guess you can get something similar a bit cheaper if you looked at specialist certain places or websites.

Also, I know someone who made one out of copper pipe and fitted some sort of spring inside to stop it from kinking in the middle when bending.

I also know someone who has vertical blinds going round a curved bay window. Each to their own I guess.

having the same problem with my bay window (5 panes wide altogether! total nightmare). I did see one in Argos for 3 panes

I found one in Dunelm of all places complete with adjustable angles at about £50. Only thing I had to do was make up some angle brackets so that I could fasten the pole brackets to the ceiling and not the walls. Does make a bit of a noise when you close the curtains (metal rings on metal pole) but otherwise great.
