hi wondered if anybody could help, i work from home, and i want to build a computer shelving unit, yes sounds easy, done 1 for the last house, very stright forward one, but just moved house, and i need another one making, which will be fitted into a bay window recess , the recess is 80 "long at the front widest point, and is 2 ft deep at the back, i have a flatscreen moniter etc, that would sit on the top, and would like some shelving underneath for files , folders etc, can anybody suggest what i use for the top, the rest underneath i would think i could use mdf, any suggestions, images , that i could go off , go easy as i am a lady diyer, thanks julie

My 1st thought would be some kitchen worktop material.
This is generally 12' long and 24" wide.
If the bay ends are square (90°) most DIY sheds are likely to have a panel saw that will cut it to length for nothing.
HomeBase will do 2 cuts free as part of their service.
It could be supported either by battens fixed to the back and sides of the bay or by the shelf units or cupboards underneath.
The front edge radius makes it more comfortable to rest your wrists on when using the keyboard instead of sharp edges cutting into the forearm and wrists.
Worktops come in many wood or marble fcolours so you can choose one that will match the room.
