Hi all,
I've just put a new stud wall together between 2 bedrooms and was considering just plasterboarding and filling and taping the joints, and then papering.
The wife then pointed out what happens when she wants the paper changed and how easy will the paper come off with no skim layer which got me thinking :
1 - Is this not the way forward and should i bite the bullet and get it skimmed, even though its only a bedroom, but that said, i don't want it to look naff ?
2 - If i did just paper straight onto the plasterboard, do the walls need a watered down paper paste mixture to seal the wall ?
3 - Wickes sell plasterboard (obviously) but also a "Baseboard" which says you can plaster or paint it direct.
Are any of you guys familiar with baseboards and is it any better or worse for my plans ?
Thanks in advance of anyone taking the time to reply.
TIA
Sean
