 I have wall papered behind the radiator and the paper has started to come away from the wall. I would like to know how long it should be left before the heated water should be left to flow, through the radiator, is this happening because it has been too warm or not enough paste, also how long should a length of pasted paper be left before it's applied to the wall.

Many thanks, brill site

Always an awkward place to paper, the biggest cause of paper coming of is lack of paste and the heating going on too soon.

Use a rad roller and get some pva down behind the rad first, then make sure you put plenty of paste on the bit that drops down behind, use the (cleaned out) rad roller to push it down and leave it for at least a day before you put the heating on.

If its any consolation, the paper behind a few of my rads has come away too.

Many thanks Zampa, That has really helped. It is some consolation to hear this is happening to the professionals.

makes it a bit more bearable.

Never seems to come away if you take the radiators off first, then paper.

It certainly does help.....but I always get the customer to get a plumber in now if they want the rads off....ive had toooooooooooooooooo many nightmares!
