Currently stumped after looking to diagnose a fault with my friends condensing tumble dryer.

The dryer isn't heating so I checked the thermal cut out (one with the red stalk) and it is not tripped. Pulling the stalk up (simulating a trip) stops continuity through it.
The other stat appears to be one shot type where it won't reset if it trips. On testing iy I'm getting about 400 ohms which I'm assuming means that it's ok.

I know it's not recommended but I carried out a live test and only got about 1 volt to each of the stats with the machine running which I'm guessing isn't normal.

Is there anything else I should check apart from the elements themselves?

Cheers,

J

Resistance checking is the easiest & usually the first thing to check. If the element is open circuit then obviously you need a new one. When checking for a supply you should also start at the component you are having a problem with & work backwards. Sorry but I don't have any tech info for your machine & I doubt you will find a circuit diagram.U-tube sometimes have helpful manufacturer specific videos perhaps you could have a look on there.

That's my next step though the heating element connectors go through the back panel and look like a nightmare to disconnect from the large block that has wiring coming from the power switch and pcb.
I've also contacted Beko directly so will see what they say.

Just bloody frustrating as the machine is only three years old :/
