Beko dishwasher (servicing)

Hello! I’ve had to change the hose on my dishwasher, which I’ve done. However, whilst I had the back off I noticed a cylinder shaped part (bottom right) about 10cm high which looks like its full of fat. Im guessing it shouldn’t look like this. Any ideas what it’s called and how I empty it?

Probably the water softener resin.
Not fat, and doesn't need emptying.
There are no user serviceable parts on domestic dishwashers.
