Hi,

Our Beko dishwasher DWD5411 swithches on, pump runnning but does not fill up with water. I tilted it few times and it worked but it now does not fill up with water at all. There was some stain on the tray where the float switch sits, which I cleaned up. I thought it was an issue with the inlet valve. I tried to replace the inlet valve and noticed new water on the tray. There are two small bore clear pipes attached to the float switch, one from each side. I switched on the machine and noticed a bit of water actually coming out of the float switch through one of these pipes. I am guessing this is what tripping the fgloat switch and stopping the inlet valve to let water in to prevent flooding.

Can anyone help me to understand why this is happening and what needs fixing please?

Thank you.

Beko repair videos are few and far between on youtube. I am more familiar with Bosch innards and have just repaired two with a smiliar sounding fault.

Needless to day, the pump running continuously and lack of filling suggests a leak override has been triggered. This usually means there is water in the bottom tray which has caused the leak float to raise up and trigger an override switch. This causes the pump to run continuously until the machine is turned off or the leak is fixed (or water is removed from the tray).

What you have to ascertain is where the leak is. What is causing the leak and if it is repairable.

Leaks could be caused by parts not sealing properly i.e worn washers, dirt, or damage.

If you can remove the side panels, take a picture of the whole side, and then a close up of the area that is leaking. I might be able to advise further

Thanks for the advice Dishman. I checked everything today and could not find anything leaking, float switch working fine, drain pump and pipe etc., not blocked. However, it would still not fill with water. I got fedup and chanegd the inlet valve. All seems to be fine now. I am guessing when I tilted the machine some water must have gone somewhere where it shouldn't have and came out via the float switch and tripping it.
Thanks very much for the help.
