Hey, Was jus wandering exactly what the script is in scotland now for this.

I know all new gas appliances must be registered with corgi, but what really happens if you dont?

What are the consequences for those who have a new boiler fitted and the benchmark books gone 'missing'??

Does the owner have to have the appliance inspected before selling the house if its not been registered ??

I dont actaully do home jobs by the way, (apart from the odd zone valve or small repair) , im just curios as to how this all works??

thnkas for any info

There is no clearly defined answer to those questions!

Manufacturers guaranty might be affected.

Possibly some difficulty when selling the house?

You might read many more suggestions on the ARGI web site if you have joined ( or join ) if you are CORGI registered.

What is the benchmark books :?:

Is it like a service history of the boiler :?:

It is a record of who fitted your boiler, who commissioned it, what work was carried out to prepare the boiler install, control systems attached to the boiler and other settings. In fact it is a record of a job well done.

Sadly there are instances where a logbook is completed with data pulled straight for the manual or other instances where the logbook is completely blank.

A logbook completed faithfully is you guarantee that the boiler was installed as intended and NOT 'chucked in'
