Bent radiator pipe

When I was removing the radiator to do some painting, I rotated the nut too hard and think I've slightly bent the pipe, which is now leaking. The lockshield valve is loose when installed and can be wiggled from side to side.

Is there anything I can do to fix this or does it need a new pipe?

Thanks

Drain down and remove lock shield to see how damaged it is, have a new one handy to replace if pipe is ok, is there any slack on pipe you can pull up into room?

Thanks for the reply, I've tried taking it off and replacing the valve but it's still loose. There is a bit of play left but not a huge amount maybe 1-2cm.

If that pipes not actually split, the leak will be from around the olive, just due to you disturbing the joint. You should be able to reseal it, by wrapping several turns of PTPF tape around the olive, then tightening the nut against that.

It’s looks to be holed below olive? Or just photo?
Better shortened and add new section of pipe.

1. The olive has been crushed into the pipe. In my opinion it will never seal properly again.
2. You need to:
2.1 Drain down the system.
2.2 Clean the paint off the pipe.
2.2 Cut the pipe below the level of the damage. Cut it square, preferably with a pipe slice, and deburr inside and out.
2.3 Use a solder coupler (end feed or "Yorkshire") and a small length of pipe (looks like 15 mm) to extend the pipe back to its current level. Allow for the length of the coupler when deciding where to cut.
2.4 Use a new olive and re-attach the valve.

As said above ,new section of pipe required, that's never going to seal as is.

Thanks all for the advice. For now I've cut the pipe and fitted a push fitting cap. Judging by the paint I think it was quite a lot lower so tomorrow I'll see if the radiator will fit if I pull the pipe up a bit. If not I'll solder some extra pipe on.
