I am planning on purchasing a log cabin for the garden. The area has a slope running front to back. i'm looking at putting a 4.5 x 3.5 cabin on it. I was originally going to deck it, then put the cabin on the deck. I intend putting a hot tub in the cabin, with 1500lts that's a Ton and half of water alone!!!!
Question is, am I over engineering the base by covering it with decking, or can I do away with the deck boards and use the sub frame on its own???
In essence I think I could build the same sub frame as I would with the deck, with joists at 300 centres where the tub is going to run, ensuring that the cabin bearers are running opposite to the floor joist???
Does that make sense? Not decking will cut my costs down???
Any help wil gratefully recieved. First post so be gentle
