Hi all

My house has a thick concrete render which exists from new. It's starting to look a bit shabby now and most of my neighbours have had their house painted white (mine is currently magnolia) so was thinking of repainting.

Can anyone recommend what company is best? I've heard conflicting reviews but most seem to recommend Dulux Weathershield Trade, or Sandtex?

This is for smooth, pure brilliant white, masonry paint.

I have used Dulux Trade Weathershield smooth masonry for years and have never had any issues.

I used the smooth Sandtex a couple of years ago, it was OK but it was the "Sand" colour so I can't comment on how well the white sandtex covers.

I have used the cheap Johnstones (not trade) (black) masonry paint, it covered OK but I seriously doubt it lasted more than 2 years (client supplied it).

I live on a busy road and used Sandtex Fine textured about 6 years ago and it still looks fresh. Its the stone colour. White i think would be a nightmare on a rough render as the trapped dirty would show up. Johnstones Trade good too and you can get it coloured.
