Hi all
Could anyone please advise what mortar mix would be best to repoint my chimney breast inglenook in my 1930s house, I'm pretty sure is lime mortar if that makes any difference as to pointing internally
Thanks

The face of the chimney breast is getting plastered and exposed bricks internally, eventually having a log burner installed
Thanks

Normal sand cement mix is fine. Check with stove installer regarding dimensions so you buy only suitable sized stove and any mantle complies with regs.
Don’t point the brickwork like you would externally looks more aged when left flush.

Thanks
Would you use a 4:1 mix?
Also would you ad lime?
