Our composite front door is looking very shabby and weathered due to being exposed to alot of direct sunlight. Can anyone advise on the best type of paint to use for repainting it, to give it the best chance of surviving more damage from the sun?

Are you spraying or rollering on?

I painted my metal brown up and over garage door which had a thick plastic woodgrain effect to it much like a foiled uPVC profile, anthracite grey RAL 7016 painted straight onto the brown with no need for primer as advised just a quick keying with some scotchbrite, used a 4 inch roller and gave it 2 coats although 1 covered very well. Used a Zinsser paint specifically for plastic and 5 years later south facing it's still as good as new

Sorry I was wrong about the door - it's composite, rather than UPVC. I will probably use a brush.
Would the Zinsser paint still be a good choice?

Yea, I treated my plastic coated metal door as a composite and it worked out well
