Best place to check car valuation from insurers?

My car is written off and insurers sent someone out to value it.

Which is the best free site to get an independent value before accepting what they say?

Look for a similar car being auctioned on ebay and see what it makes - , that will be the real world value.

Better to look for five similar cars sold on several different media.

Refuse their first offer on principal. Take or refuse their second dependant on the value you have made. Most will take the third offer.

My insurance company looked for the same car went min to max price and offered the middle price. This prevented the car getting written off a book price was virtually worthless due to mileage rather than condition

As I mentioned previously, ebay is the only place where you can see what the cars actually sell for, asking prices are meaningless, put a shortcut on your desktop from any cars like yours that are coming to the end of the auction and then even if you miss it you will still be able to see what they sold for.
