Best quality/ performance electric shower?

Hi all.
I have a Mira sport 9.5 electric shower but its failed .
Not overly impressed as it cost the best part of £300 plus vat
And barley lasted 18 months. I know want to bite bullit and replace it
. Thing is I went on amazon and the new Mira sport 10.8 gets
Slated and after calling a few people there seems to
Be a known fault with them.
Can anyone recommend a good quality with reliability to replace my
Existing shower.

We've had Triton showers for over 30 years.
None have failed, all have given sterling service. Average use by us; 10 years per shower. All were still working when we moved out.

I would be recovering money from the retailer for this. Clearly you would expect a "top of the range" shower to last more than 18 months. Look up SOGA as amended. This assumes it was fitted correctly otherwise there could be an out (are you in a hard water area).

Goods need to be durable and last a reasonable length of time given price paid etc.


I have never had to call on a warranty on a shower made by Mira but have had very good experiences with Aqualisa even when the shower is outside its warranty period. Note the manufacturers do not have to offer anything the contract is with the original supplier.

Yes as Seco says 2 year warranty with this one. Thought it was 2 years but done a google search for Mira warranty and the default is 1 year but that product carries 2 years. Seco is never wrong


You haven't explained what is wrong? Could be the pull cord

As said poss only something minor thats wrong on that age shower.
The sport is pretty faultless.
As for the 10.8 and 10.8 max they have a main pcb that can cause a few issues with them.

But the new sport is out now, And as with the old version always been a good shower.

Completely agree. Top of the range equipment should not fail after 18 months. Forget about guarantees - they are just voluntary offers used as a marketting device but with an underlying purpose of leading people to believe that once they expire there's nothing you can do. That's not the case. Sale of goods act says stuff should be fit for purpose. When you bought the thing did you expect it to last only 18 months? No!. It should last a lot longer, and if it doesn't it is not fit for purpose. Courts will consider fitness up to at least 6 years (depending on what it is) on a diminishing scale. So something 18 months old is really still close to new. Something 2 or 3 years old and the balance starts to work against you. Don't let the retailer fob you off with manufacturer's warranty. They sold it to you, the contract is with them and it is their responsibility. Full stop.

All perfectly true of course. However I have had some success with another product (not a shower) which expired after about 18 months. As my expectation was it should have lasted much longer I wrote to the manufacturer and they coughed up a brand new unit - no quibble at all. So whilst the supplier is primarily responsible a good manufacturer may just help as a goodwill/marketing gesture.

although the shower failed after 18 months i never really did anything about it untill a good 6 months later. (we have 2 showers in house so i was just being lazy )
i appreciate your awnsers but could somebody tell me what mira model is deemed reliable as i have read so many bad things about the 10.8 max.
i am keen to stay with mira the reason being they give a 2year warranty.
when i bought mine it was a 1 year policy.

What's wrong with it? Could well be a simple fault that isn't worth writing the letters required to wherever you got it from as could be 5min fix. But if it cant be fixed then by your own admission you havent done anything so I am sure the time taken to send of the required letter and the time taken for the response wont hurt.


And you are missing the point 18M, 24M, 36M is too fast for a product to fail and you cannot loose.
