Hello,

I am building a 8.5m x 3.6m shed, the "narrow" side is facing south. The maximum height it can go is 2.5m, due to being within 2m of a border / fence.

My goal is to get the best solution where I can:

1) Maximize the space underneath, I would prefer for the height to be 2.5 all over the shed, since it will contain a gym and some of the equipment is tall. I guess this means I can only have a flat roof.

2) I would like to eventually put solar panels on top, I know my options are GRP, EPDM and Felt. EPDM and Felt can Rip easily with foot movement on top (panel maintenance?) But then, would EPDM crack with the weight of the panels?

I am basically open to any solutions that can help with the above two problems.

Thanks

Don't forget to add plenty of barbed wire otherwise they will be nicked.

Bit of a thread drift here as you intend to add the panels as a later addition,
But,
is there a solarPV panel system that could be used as the primary external waterproofing surface?

Hard insulate to the back of it and you could have an excellent roofing solution.
Compact too where height is a concern (i.e. Panels pushing the structure over a height limit)

Also, am I correct in thinking you need PP for any / all Solar panel installation?
Whether it be on house or shed?
