Hello all,

I'm building a storage shed for my patio and I'm starting by building a base for the floor to screw into. Can anyone recommend the correct sort of screws to use please. They need to be long enough to go through the 70mm joist and into the adjacent wood. I was thinking something like this. Are there screws long enough that don't require a pilot hole when using a drill?

Attached is a diagram of the base.

Thanks in advance.

I would speak to rapierstar on (0)1260 223311 . I used them all the time back in the day, they used to sell a Torx drive screw that would just drive through anything with zero slipage. They also have some treated screws that may be worth thinking about.

Pick up a pallet free from many local commercial estates , you then have a ready made base .Thats a standard pallet size .
