Hi,

I need a few meters of wood to batten around our bathroom prior to tiling (8.5 meters to be exact).

What is the best type/size of wood to use?

Every piece of wood I pick up and inspect in both of the big DIY sheds is bent.

So are there any (better) alternatives to using wood?

The tiles are ceramic 20cm x 50cm and 7mm thick, if that has any relevance.

Thanks in advance

As a rule a little bend can be pulled out when you level & screw to the wall, but if you want to push the boat out you can buy stripwood, it's usually in a seprate display and is knot split and as a rule warp free. Mind you there is a high premimum for wood that will end up smothered in adhesive and binned at the end.

This sort of stuff B&Q sell it too.

Of course you can get these but to be frank I suspect it's more trouble than it's worth for a one off job.
