Best treatment for sleepers (untreated)

Hi,

Looking at buying some sleepers and found a timber sawmill about 10 miles from me.

I can get untreated softwood sleepers (douglas fir or spruce) for a 1/3 the price of treated ones.

I would like them to have a little bit of colour but not alot.

So what is the best solution to treat these sleepers seeing as they have not been injected with treatment etc

Any advice would be most welcome

What are you using them for? anything exterior and you need pre-treated, you can't match the treatment they need with any DIY method.
