Hi
I am intending of having driveway relaid as its a mixture of concrete sections laid over 40 years ago so its in need of replacement.

The problem I have is that I have a 200 year old copper beech tree about 1m from my drive with a preservation order!

Can anyone advise what is the best driveway material to use that will reduce the chance of the tree roots cracking the new laid drive? Is block paving best or the imprinted concrete?

Thanks
Adam

Would go for block paving since thie can be lifted and re-laid relatively easily every so often to allow adjustments for the roots.

nothing will stop the tree roots
as cantaloup63 has said you need an easily moved surface so you can trim and cut the roots as required then relay the bricks
