Hello

I have a front 'garden' which is completely covered in concrete.

The area is approx 20 feet by 30 feet and the concrete is about a foot thick (I know this as I have drilled down to check).

What would be the best tool to hire to break up the concrete quickly? And I intend to use the broken-up concrete as a hard-core base for the new shingle, so if you could recommend a further tool to smash up the large pieces into smaller ones..

Thank you
Tom

Thanks for the replies, I'll look into hire places and see what they have along the digger lines.

The previous owner had a motor home apparently, but the whole house is over-engineered and I suspect you could land a Harrier on the drive without issue.

Cheers again!

I was going to say smack it with a hammer. But then I saw it's a foot thick. For technical cases like that I would suggest getting somebody else to smack it with a hammer. A big hammer.
